MANILA, Philippines – The Student Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP), a national organization of student councils and student governments, will hold a Students’ Assembly on Youth Rights at San Sebastian College-Recoletos, on July 30, 2016.
Held in partnership with the Center for Youth Advocacy and Networking, the assembly aims to strengthen awareness on pressing issues, such as youth health, youth participation, education, youth employment, as well as youth rights.
This assembly also intends to identify the current situation of the youth, raise awareness on youth advocacies and campaigns, and build a youth agenda in addressing social issues concerning youth rights.
Chairman Chito Gascon of the Commission on Human Rights is expected to provide the keynote speech, while Senator Risa Hontiveros, former National Youth Commission Chairman Gio Tingson, and Representative Tom Villarin will provide context to issues faced by the youth.
