After revival, Netflix pulls the plug on ‘Designated Survivor’
Netflix cancels the political drama nearly a year after saving it from ABC's cancellation

MANILA, Philippines – Sorry, fans, but it seems like Designated Survivor won’t be surviving.

A 4th season will not be in the works, as Netflix dropped the series after saving it in September 2018 for a 3rd season. It was previously cancelled by ABC in May 2018 after two seasons.

“We are proud to have offered fans a 3rd season of Designated Survivor, and will continue to carry all 3 seasons for years to come,” Netflix said in a statement, according to a Variety report.

“We’re especially thankful to star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland, who brought passion, dedication and an unforgettable performance as President Kirkman. We’re also grateful to showrunner/executive producer Neal Bear for his guiding vision and steady hand,” he added.

Created by David Guggenheim, Designated Survivor starred 24’s Kiefer Sutherland as Tom Kirkman, a low-level cabinet member who suddenly becomes President of the United States after a terrorist attack during the State of the Union, resulting in every government member’s death. – Rappler.com
