MANILA, Philippines – Known to many as a multi-awarded singer-songwriter, record producer, and dancer, Bruno Mars has one more thing up his sleeve: an award-winning rum.
SelvaRey Rum, co-created by Bruno, made its debut in Japan and the Philippines early May, as the singer visited the two countries for his 24k Magic World Tour.
The rum is made in Panama and is the result of a collaboration between Bruno and master blenders.
It comes in White Rum and Cacao Rum variants.
The White Rum is a blend of 3- and 5-year-old rums and can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, and as a cocktail. SelvaRey said it makes a mean rum and Coke, or a mojito.
The Cacao Rum, meanwhile, is a 5-year-old rum infused with natural chocolate. Like its clear counterpart, the Cacao Rum can be sipped neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails. SelvaRey recommends it for espresso martinis.
In Manila, the rum was officially launched during Bruno’s sold-out shows at the Mall of Asia Arena. Local celebrities got first dibs at the SelvaRey Cocktail Bar inside the arena.
It’s set to launch in Hong Kong, Thailand, and Singapore in the coming months. – Rappler.com
