MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced the creation of the DSWD EarthquakePH text hotlines for victims of the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that hit Bohol and Cebu on October 15.

The text message-exclusive hotlines were set up to receive reports, feedback and requests for aid from residents in the region. Victims can expect responses within 48 hours.

DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman explained that people using the hotlines should include their names, exact locations and concerns.

“I encourage the public, especially those affected by the earthquake, to include all details when using this mobile number,” she said.

Nearly 344,000 victims of the quake in Bohol were displaced by the quake.

Globe and Touch Mobile users can text “IREPORT<space>name/location/message” to 2327 or 09178902327. Smart, Sun and Talk N’ Text users, on the other hand, can text their concerns to 09189122813. – With a report from Apa M. Agbayani/Rappler.com
