MANILA, Philippines – Several streets in Manila and Quezon City, and a number of university campuses in key cities nationwide on Thursday, September 21, are expected to be filled with demonstrators as the country observes the 45th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law by dictator Ferdinand Marcos. 

President Rodrigo Duterte declared September 21 this year as National Day of Protests, and suspended work in government offices and classes in public schools nationwide

Traffic agencies and local governments within Metro Manila have not ordered road closures, but expect some to be impassable. They recommend alternate routes instead. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority is not suspending the color coding scheme.
