WATCH: Kawhi says mighty Warriors still ‘human’

MANILA, Philippines – If there is one thing Game 1 of the 2019 NBA Finals revealed, the Golden State Warriors are still beatable.

And Kawhi Leonard wants the Toronto Raptors to keep that in mind as they look to gain a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven championship series when they host the Warriors in Game 2 on Sunday, June 2 (Monday, June 3, Philippine time). 

“We know that they are human,” Leonard said. 

“I mean they are a great basketball team, talented players, hard basketball IQ players. You just have to go out there and compete. Take the challenge.” 

Since its ascent to basketball supremacy, Golden State has been known for staging back-breaking runs in a snap. 

And considering they trail in the finals duel, the Warriors are expected to come out with a bang to knot the series score. 

But Leonard reminds Toronto to remain composed. 

“We know they are going to make big shots, go on runs and it’s just about keeping your composure and keep fighting through,” he said.

“Don’t put your head down when you know players like Steph (Curry) or Klay (Thompson) make big threes, just keep playing.” – Rappler.com
