Terrence Romeo trade to San Miguel approved by PBA
The three-time PBA scoring champion will play for his third team as he enters his sixth year in the league

MANILA, Philippines – Barely a season with TNT, Terrence Romeo is already headed somewhere else.

Romeo, a 3-time PBA scoring champion, has been acquired by San Miguel in a trade with the KaTropa in exchange for Brian Heruela, David Semerad and a 2021 first round picks.

The trade was approved by the PBA on Wednesday, December 19.

Romeo spent more than 4 seasons with NorthPort before he was dealt to the KaTropa for Mo Tautuaa and two future picks after the Philippine Cup early this year.

The 26-year-old played for TNT for two conferences, averaging 16.1 points, 5.1 assists, 3.2 rebounds through 20 elimination round games.

Romeo normed 21.4 points, 5.2 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.0 steal in the Governors’ Cup but saw the KaTropa miss the playoffs for the first time since 2015.

As TNT enters the new season with hopes of regaining its lost glory, it gets a solid backup point guard in Heruela and a boost in the wing with the 6-foot-4 Semerad, who will be reuniting with twin Tony.

According to several reports, though, Heruela would go back to Blackwater – the team that drafted him 2014 – as a part of a three-team trade between TNT and Meralco. – Rappler.com
