(UPDATED) The Lady Falcons end their 3-game losing streak against the top guns of the UAAP

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – The Adamson Lady Falcons made up for their 3-game losing streak with a strong finish to Season 80 as they defeated the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Golden Tigresses in 3 sets, 25-6, 25-23, 25-23, on Saturday, April 14, at the Blue Eagle Gym of the Ateneo de Manila University.

Adamson almost failed to sweep the match as the Tigresses got off to a 4-0 start to the 3rd set. Joy Dacoron edged out UST by one before the second technical timeout. Graduating players Jema Galanza and Mylene Paat played their hearts out during the last stretch to give Adamson the straight-set win.

The Lady Falcons ended their season with an identical 6-8 record with the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons, while the Tigresses fell to 5-9 in the UAAP Season 80 Women’s Volleyball tournament.

Eli Soyud led the Lady Falcons with 14 points, followed by Galanza with 13 points while making 10 excellent digs and 8 excellent receptions.

Sisi Rondina ended the season by scoring 15 points in her last game.

In the first set, Lady Falcons torched the Tigresses as they locked them down to only 6 points, and Jema Galanza quickly finished it off with an ace.

Adamson continued on with their momentum as they led 16-12 by the first technical timeout. Sisi Rondina’s efforts sparked a 5-0 run that nabbed the lead, 16-17.
