Rappler Game Night: ‘UFC 3’
We try out the game's 'Knockout Mode' where it's all kicks and punches and knees and elbows while Snoop Dogg does the commentating

MANILA, Philippines – EA’s videogame series for the popular bloodsport returns with its 3rd iteration, UFC 3, released on February 2, for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Touting revamped striking mechanics, for which the game has been praised, we try out the game’s Knockout Mode, where it’s all kicks and punches and knees and elbows, minus all that grappling. The bonus? Rapper Snoop Dogg commentates on the action.

Before the game even begins, it launches us directly into a tutorial mode, where we play as cover boy Conor McGregor, pitting us against Tony Fergusson – whose performance is throttled in the sequence because it’s a tutorial, after all. Will we win? Or will we suffer an embarrassing loss?

We are also joined in this episode by Karl de Mesa, author, journalist, host of MMA podcast DSTRY.MNL (which you can check out here), and an experienced UFC gamer. Can Rappler Gaming League’s Gelo Gonzales and Victor Barreiro beat the man with good ol’ button-mashing? Catch the video above to see! – Rappler.com
